OPA2347: Is it possible to use this OpAmp as comparator?

Part Number: OPA2347

In our application second opamp in the package is not used and I would like to use it as comparator which will transform sin wave (10 - 400Hz) to square. Is there any issue with this opamp and not usual application? Power supply will be 3.3V and inputs will not exceed power supply voltage.

  • Hi Tomas,

I think "Using Operations Amplifiers as Comparators" will help answer your questions. Due to the slow slew rate of 0.17V/us you will see a slow transition for high to low or low to high but at such a low frequency this may not be an issue.

Also, based on the datasheet I do not see an indication that there are back to back diodes across the inputs of the device. However, it is always good to test to verify this.

    Thank you,
