TLV7011: TINA-TI Simulation only possible with changed Analysis Parameter "TR maximum time step"

Hello Team,

during a simulation of a 7Hz oscillator I need to change "TR maximum time step" from default 10G to 1u so see the correct result.

When changing this parameter my simulated frequency changes.

When using e.g. TLV3201 it works with the default 10G "TR maximum time step".

Can you help to choose the right value for this “TR maximum time step” in the case we are not sure about the signals we must obtain?

Hello Hans,

I believe this is because the newer TLV70xx models internally use transmission line elements to set the propagation delay.

When you increase the time steps for a slow circuit, the minimum time step can become larger than the fixed delay set in the transmission line. This may cause convergence or other issues.

The older TLV3201 model uses a more conventional R-C based delay that is more forgiving.

By setting the max time step to 1u, this forces the minimum time steps to be smaller, and cover the delays...but sims take longer as there are more points to crunch. 10G just allows too large of minimum time step. Try something in the middle such as 10u or 1m.
