AMC1311-Q1: Any concern if VDD is not ready but VIN has already exist?

Part Number: AMC1311-Q1

Hi,

I have the application that AMC1311-Q1 is used to sensing the HV battery in EV. When the car is stop, there will no voltage present at VDD, however, the VIN still is fed by voltage sensing signal.

In this scenario, would that cause any problem to AMC1311-Q1?

Thank you!

  • Hi Pin,

what VDD are we talking about? VDD1 or VDD2?

    Can you show a schematic?

  • Hi Pin,

As Kai mentioned, specifying whether you mean VDD1, VDD2, or both is important to help make this assessment.

However, I imagine that you are referring to VDD1 and I would like to refer you to table 7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings, where you can see that exceeding VDD1 + 0.5V on the input pin can cause damage to the device. The customer may want to consider adding a diode from VIN to VDD1 in order to ensure that the input voltage does not exceed VDD1 by more than 500mV.
