LM6142: input protection diode

Part Number: LM6142

Hi,

Good day.

Our customer is using the LM6142 and they have a question about it. Kindly find below the inquiry.

"I have a use case for the LM6142AIM/NOPB op amp, DC input common mode voltage may exceed the absolute max of the part according to the datasheet.  The max listed is VCC+0.3V.  The device is powered with +3.3VDC, and I may experience inputs of up to +3.7VDC at low currents (~20uA).
The datasheet lists that the LM6142 has "limited built in ESD protection."  What exactly does that mean?  Will the ESD protection diodes for this device be able to sink 20uA of input current above the supply voltage safely?"

Thank you for your support on this matter .

Regards,

Cedrick
