Hello Manohar,
Does the output pin go to an connector?
There is no protection from shorts or ESD included in the schematic.
damage means Input of an op amp and Power Get Shorted that time OPA170.docx get Heated up
Hi Ronald Michallick
Yes Output of Buffer is Going to Connector.
OPA170AIDR had a Internal 17mA Short Circuit Protection Option, I think that is Enough for Short Circuit Protection. Then Coming to ESD Protection Through Capacitor We Provide ESD Protection.
Actually Board is already Integrated in Unit With ESD Protection.
Regards,
Manohar
Hello Manohar,
It is not best not depend solely of the OPA170 current limit unless the short is temporary and extremely rare. With no resistance, the output capacitor will make the amp op potentially unstable.
What is the maximum bandwidth (frequency) needed for the channels? I can help pick componentes to improve protection.
Do you know which input was shorted? Is it alway the inputs?
