LM358: Can I connect positive input V+ or negative input V- to ground directly?

Can I connect positive input V+ or negative input V- to ground directly when I use this device? Is there any risk if I use in this way.

There is danger only if the voltage at an input can become smaller than the voltage at the ground pin (absolute maximum rating: –0.3 V). This might happen with symmetric supplies that power up too late, or if there are very large (transient) currents in the ground trace between the input and ground pins.
