Does INA170EA is Qualified for Automotive applications?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA281-Q1, INA168-Q1, INA138-Q1

There is no mention of any automotive qualification standard for INA170EA Current shunt in its datasheet, can we use it for automotive applications,

If not suggest us the alternate current shunt with same package and pin configurations.

  • Krishna,

Thanks for choosing TI!. Unfortunately the INA170EA is not automotive qualified to the AEC-Q100 standard. Our products that undergo automotive qualification are denoted by a "-Q1" added to the part number, and it does not look like we make this device in a Q1 qualified version. Furthermore, this is a pretty unique device from TI's portfolio with the offset trimming resistor pin. As such, I do not believe there is a pin for pin next gen version of this device.

If you need a current output device (external resistor gain set), then I would advise you to look at the INA138-Q1 or the INA168-Q1. If you can work with an internally gain set device (voltage output), then I would recommend checking out the INA281-Q1, which is also a current feedback device with an internally set gain resistor and output buffer.
