OPA170: Introducing devices with low Vos (SOT-5x3)

Part Number: OPA170
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV341, OPA171, OPA990

Hi, Staff

Customers are currently using OPA170 SOT-5X3 (DRL Package).
We are planning to revise the application, but we will not change the board layout.

Customer demands are looking for devices with low Vos in the OPA170 specification.
(Uses SOT-5X3 package)

Please introduce a device with lower Vos than OPA170.

OPAx990 has a slightly better Vos, but the pinout is different.
The power supply for TLV341 is 5.5V and Vos is 4mV, so it cannot be selected.

best regards

  • Hi Cafain,

why using such an exotic package?

    Kai

  • Hi Cafain,

Unfortunately there are not many op amps offered in that package. There are only two high voltage devices, OPA170 and OPA171, that are offered in that package. We are working on releasing more devices in that package as you noted with the OPA990. I have contacted our systems team to see if we will be releasing a new device in the DRL package with the same pinout as the OPA170. I'm hoping to hear back from them by tomorrow and I will reply back when I get a response.

    Hi Kai,

The DRL package is one of, if not, the smallest leaded single channel devices in the market. Its perfect for designs that are space constrained and require/prefer leaded packages.

    Thank you,

    Tim Claycomb

  •  Hi, Kai-san, Tim-san

    Thank you

With the OPA170 SOT-5X3 foot pattern, existing application products are in mass production.
If you have a pin-compatible operational amplifier with good Vos characteristics, you can use it for a wider range of purposes, avoid using many types of operational amplifiers, and reduce management and costs.

    best regards
