TL103WA: TL103WA Pin rating inquiry

Part Number: TL103WA

Hi, TI expert

I have an inquiry regarding the TL103WA.

Please inquire as the maximum rating for the entire pin is not shown on the datasheet.

1. When Vcc = 5V, can I check the Maximum Voltage Range and Maximum Current Range for each Pin?

2. Do VID and VI in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table mean IN pin(2,3,5,6pin)?

3. If you look at 1. Features on page 1 of the Datasheet, there is a content of "Large Output-Voltage Swing.. 0V to Vcc-1.5V". Can you explain in detail what it is?

Please confirm. Thank you.

  • Hello Grady,

    1) Input pins 2, 5,6 must stay with -0.3V to 5.3V where the input current will be tiny. There is no allowed current (outside that voltage range), however less than 1mA is unlikely to cause any device damage. Input pin 3 must be above -0.3V however the positive voltage limit is self setting (shunt regulator) so positive pin current must be less than 100mA. Output voltages are self driven. Recommended loads are greater than 2k ohms

    2) Pin 3 is not just an input, it is special.

    3) This is a marketing claim that is not mirrored in the electrical tables (section 6.5-6.8). This (Vcc-1.5V) is usually true with 5V supply and 2k load at room temperature. The source current driver is a NPN Darlington driver with a small series resistance added. VOH is reduced at colder temperatures at a rate of roughly 4mV/C.
