micro smd audio amp identification

Hi,

I have a number of IC's in small portable amplifiers that are faulty but I'm having trouble with identification of the device type.

They are micro smd 9 bump devices and I suspect they are class D 2w single channel audio amps.

The type markings appear to be:-

95W 17S

BP 27

Although the top line does vary the BP 27 is consistent. Due to the size of these devices it's difficult to see the markings clearly. I have checked through the data sheets for all devices of this type and can't find anything that would match these codes.

Could you possibly tell me if it is a TI device and if so what LMxxxx it might be?

Hi, Bob,

I guess you must suspect these are chips made by the company formerly known as NSC?

Those don't see like codes we use on our TPA2xxx family of 2W class-D amps.

Hi Bob,

I've had a product engineer here at TI-SVA check into this and we haven't been able to match up the markings you have provided with anything in our database. It's not to say 100% it isn't ours, it's just that it doesn't show up.

A quick update to this saga.

I eventually ordered some TPA2034's out of desperation and would you believe they were marked 8P 27 (or possibly BP Z7) which is the same as the originals.

It doesn't mention those marking codes on the datasheets?

Hi Bob,

For such small devices production uses a code that they can recognize the part, date manufactured, lot, etc, and since this changes over time, this information wouldn't appear in a datasheet.
