TAS5421 diag resistor read timing and diag term

Hi,

My customer is designing the software of the TAS5421.

They have questions about the diag resistor(0x02) read timing.

1.  The figure 11 on the datasheet is mentioned the Load Diagnostics Sequence of Events.

When should they read the resistor(0x02)?

Should they read it  after these events, or after check phase, or another timing?

2.   And it is mentioned that "the check phase repeats up to 5 times" on the datasheet.

Does it mean that these events take 429ms(=75ms+52ms+50msx5+52ms) if the fault is present?

Please let me know lack of the information.

Thanks and Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Kuromochi-san,
    1. Common sense would be to wait until the test is fully complete, after to ramp down phase. This allow the registers to be set as necessary.
    2. The test does not take 429msec to complete, it takes 257msec. The check phase will perform all 5 tests in 50msec.
