Replacement of LME49830 for my project.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3251

I had an existing design of audio power amplifier where I have used IC lme49830,with biasing +-55 volt,IC lme 49830 was driving two power mosfet (push pull config),ultimately which was driving 100 volt 6 watt speaker(8 nos).As now i have to change the IC lme49830, i was not able two find another IC with same input range .Its already in a existing project so less number of design modification is the main consideration.I am not expert in this audio amplifier circuit also.So any help with design, document datasheet, technical knowledge ,know-how is welcome.I have attached the circuit also

thanks n regards

  • Hi Poulam,

    Welcome to e2e.
Unfortunately there is not a direct replacement for this device.
And the bad thing is that the similar drivers like LME49810 and LME49811 are being discontinued too.
Perhaps you can take a look at a complete amplifier solution, something like TPA3251 or TAS56xx. These are close in output power.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Thanks for your response Ivan ,1)Kindly tell me want thing as i do not have much knowledge about it,amplifier output is specified as say for an example 100Watt in 8ohm load, now the speaker i am using having rated impedance in datasheet as 1.6 kohm, can you please describe me the fundamental about this 100watt,8ohm output to 1.6 kohm load speaker?what will be the output power and etc if i interface with this speaker.
and 2)please also let me know that as far as i know speaker needs a pure ac signal, previously in my circuit where i had a chance of using dual supply the input was pure ac wave as the amplifier is also biased in positive and negative phase, but if i use single supply then either one half will clipped off or dc component will be added in the audio signal..then how it will be done..thanks for your support,i am a novice in this and kindly explain me the fundamentals if it is possible.
    thanks and regards
