TAS5717: TAS5717 must need always MCU after finish software download using JIG?

Part Number: TAS5717
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5760MD

HI, everyone.

I need information about TAS5717.

If I finish software coding using GDE to download TAS5717 then TAS5717 always need MCU for I2C commucation ?

TAS5717 does not have memory to keep register setting?

It means when I power reset(ON/OFF) TAS5717 require re-setting(again I2C data) after once software download?

Always when Power ON TAS5717 need new I2C data with MCU?

Or, Just one time need I2c data for downloading software then TAS5717 remember before I2C data?

Could someone let me know about that?

Thanks,

Best regards,

KIM

  • Hello Kim! This looks like a duplicate entry? Please refeeence my last response: Hello Kim! As a slave device the TAS5717 will still need a clock per page 9 of the datasheet. With that said , there are other options to support this. Please also refeence: e2e.ti.com/.../586751

Also, Shawn can help you with further questions.

    thanks, Jeff
  • Hi Myung Sik,

There is no non-volatile memory(flash, ROM..) for customer usage on TAS5717. So the device configuration which is achieved by GDE GUI(e.g. DRC cfg, EQ setting....) need to be written by I2C from the host every time power on the device. GDE GUI is only used to develop the software/firmware cfg on the audio amplifier for customers.

  • Hi, Shawn

Are there any Audio IC TAS57xx series Texas Instrument no has non-volatile memeory(Flash...)?

If yes, How can I make a source code(C-language) using GDE?

I want to use MicroChip PIC-series so,I need C source code to control TAS5717 using I2C.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    KIM
  • Hi Kim,
Please check TAS5760MD, which supports hardware control mode and headphone channel. But BQ or DRC programming is actually not supported. If you are interested in this device and have more question on it, please post another question in E2E forum. Our application expert for this device will answer your any question.
