TPA6211A1-Q1: Output wave is abnormal

do you overload the TPA6211? What output load have you connected? Is the chip getting hot? Have you properly soldered the thermal pad to a ground plane?

Do you know the current consumption or the power dissipation that the device is getting? if not, you could measure it and let me know the result.

Hi,
The TPA6211 is not overload. The output load is speaker. The chip isn't hot. The thermal pad is soldered properly to ground plane.
There is just one piece of chip which has this issue. When I changed another chip, this issue disappears.
Could you have other suggestions?

Hi Kevin,

the output signal is not only very small but is also clipped. This is how an output looks like which is overloaded by a too small load resistance or is overheated and goes into thermal shutdown. Maybe a short somewhere in the cabling to the speaker or in the speaker itself? Is the error disappearing on the scope if you disconnect the speaker from the output?

When I change another new chip to replace the failing part and remain the cable and speaker, the output waveform becomes OK. How to explain this?

I think the chip was damaged, perhaps a short to a higher power supply of another circuit or something like that. Do you have more information about this chip like power consumption, THD+N, etc?
You take into account that It is quite difficult to determinate the cause of the failure If just one chip failed.

I agree with José. The chip seems to be damaged. This could have been a soldering mistake or something else.

You should carry out some testing with the fresh chip, now, to find out whether the error is repeating.
