Hi
Our customer want to estimate the amount of time until DRC operated.
Is the sum of time "Energy Filtering" and "Compression Control" and "Attack and Decay Filtering"?
Is it possible to calculate amount of time?
BestRegards

Hi
I'm sorry for ambiguous question.
Let me post question again with other words.
The customer wants to expect the actual time until DRC detecting over threshold and compressing output.
They expected 20msec (Energy = 10msec and Attack time = 10msec) until clipping starts (over threshold) and resolved, but it takes 46msec actually.
I attached some data.
Do you have reason why it occurs?
BestRegards
Hi Adam
Thank you for your reply.
I add supplemental.
I could have confirmed that the customer reduced energy and attack time.
However, they said that the time with setting energy =10msec and attack = 50msec results in 140msec by measurement.
The customer wants to confirm the relevance of energy time, attack time, decay time and actual time.
If there is an formula or specific way for calculation, please tell us. I will share it with customer.
BestRegards
Hi nana-san,
The attack time(10ms) is the preiod that the signal decreases from 100% to 36.8%(1/e). When it gets to 0%, the signal becomes unclipped. I think your measurement is from 100% to 0%, the 46ms total time looks reasonable.
