TAS2770: Output Power vs Temperature

Part Number: TAS2770

Hi,

I have not found in the datasheet "TAS2770 20-W Digital Input Mono Class-D Audio Amplifier with Speaker I/V Sense datasheet (Rev. A).pdf" any information about the output power vs temperature.

Is it possible to have a graph or table about it ?

Have TAS2770 any output power derating vs ambient temperature (from -20°C to 85°C) ?

Thanks,

Best Regards

  • Hi Marco,

I'll check for existing data to address your question. If there is no data I'll see if we can test it.
I'll come back to you with more information tomorrow or early next week.

  • Marco,

Below is some data captured to show the variation of output power over temperature. Each row was captured using the same config only changing the temp.
    Note: OTP means over-temperature protection.

    -40degC 25degC 85degC
    3.914 3.75 3.638
    4.226 4.05 3.992
    5.153 5.01 4.744
    7.234 6.65 6.375
    7.796 7.17 6.829
    9.693 8.85 8.051
    8.802 8.41 8.137
    9.49 9.105 8.851
    11.678 11.18 10.652
    15.981 14.52 13.442
    17.066 15.58 OTP
    19.915 17.96 OTP

In addition, please note that data sheet states (in section 6.1) that specs are met from -20 to 70 degC. So you could only expect some variation from 70 to 85degC.

  • Hi Ivan,

    thanks for the measures !

    Only one details:

Have you used the EVB TAS2770EVM for QFN package or TAS2770YFF for BGA package ?

Is it the same performance about output-power vs Temperature?

    Another help about PPC3:

Could you please assist in getting the PurePath Console software?

I requested the software approval but I have never got a response .

    Thanks,

    Best Regard

    Marco Orsi

  • Marco,

The data was taken with QFN package, I'll double check if the same can be expected on BGA.

Regarding PPC3 access, what is the address you used to request the access?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Ivan,

    Regarding PPC3 access, I used marco.orsi@sadel.it .

    Thanks

  • Marco,

Your access to PPC3 and TAS2770 app has been approved already.
You should download and install PPC3 from mysecuresoftware: www.ti.com/mysecuresoftware
TAS2770 app is installed from within PPC3, you'll see your available apps after login.
