[FAQ] INA199: What is the difference between the INA199A, INA199B and INA199C devices?

Part Number: INA199

There are multiple versions of the INA199, ending with A#, B#, and C#. What is different between versions?

  • Transient robustness and ESD Ratings.  If you are creating a new design, we recommend you use the INA199B or INA199C devices.

The B and C versions of the device have a different ESD cell than the A version.  The C version has better gain error than the A or B versions.

Please see this thread for further explanation.

Also, see TIDA-00302 for more information about using passive components to protect against transients on current sense amplifiers.
