Photodiode Transimpedance amplifier

Am designing a trans impedance amplifier for photodiode from first sensor PS-100E.Am using LM 358 op-amp.To calculate the feedback resistance ,I should know the short circuit current of the photodiode.However I could'nt find it in the datasheet.I need help to calculate the short circuit current.I have attached the link for the photodiode data sheet.Thank you

Hi Priya,

it's 0.37A/W at 550nm for the "PS100-6". So, if you irradiate the photodiode with 1mW power at a wavelength of 550nm a current of 370µA is flowing through the photodiode in short circuit mode.

For help designing your transimpedance amplifier I recommend taking a look at our Transimpedance Amplifier cookbook circuit in our Analog Engineer's Circuit Cookbook. The cookbook circuit provides tips and tricks and a step by step process on how to design a TIA.

Hi Priya,

usually, the exact value of feedback resistor is found out experimentally. Take what fits your needs.
