AFE031: Power Line Communication and SunSpec

Part Number: AFE031
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE030, , C2000WARE

Hi,

Application Report SPRAC94–June 2017, Interfacing the C2000™ With an AFE030/1: FSK Example provides details of a SFSK transmitter for SunSpec Rapid Shutdown application. I found it very timely and useful. In addition I can understand from this document and other C2000 / AFE031 data and reference designs how I might build a Sunspec compliant receiver.

I notice that TI has strong representation on the SunSpec working group. Does this mean TI could have plans to develop a SunSpec compliant receiver design, or dedicated IC? Any information on such plans, timeframes etc would be very much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Alan

  • Hello Alan,

I am glad the document was informative. That is correct, TI has been heavily involved in the Sunspec working group for defining the standard. We are finishing up the development of a Sunspec compliant receiver and will add documentation to the existing Application Report SPRAC94 which will within mid January 2018 as well as open source code in C2000ware.

  • Hi Errol,

Thank you for responding, and I will be looking forward to seeing your updated Application Report and code. If I understand correctly the receiver will also be based around the combination of C2000 & AFE031, is that correct?

    Best Regards,

    Alan

  • Hello Alan,

    That is correct.

    Best regards,
