TLV2721 input power pins reversed?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV2721, OPA2237, OPA244, OPA237

Hello, I am new to TI from National.  I was looking for a single opamp with the following characteristics:  power from 10V, ground input common mode range, slew rate around 1V/uS, and very low input current; sub 0.2mA if possible.  I came across the TLV2721 in the 5 pin SOT-23 package, but the input power pins appear to be reversed from every other opamp in this package.  Is this correct?

  • Hi Craig,

I am pleased to meet another new TI employee from National!

The TLV family of operational amplifiers use at least two different SOT23-5 pin-out patterns which are based on the die layout and orientation. When I compare the TLV2721 die image to the data sheet pin-out the pad to pin correlation looks correct. When I check the data sheets of the other TLV27x1 products they show the same pin-out as the TLV2721. So with the limited information I have here in Tucson the data sheet does appear to be correct.

I will contact the product engineer in Dallas and ask for further verification. I'll get back to you as soon as I have a response.

    Regards, Thomas

  • Thomas I appreciate your quick response.  I am also looking at the OPA244 and OPA2237 parts which do have pin 5 as +VCC.

  • Hi Craig,

The TLV2721DBV product engineer just verified the unique pin-out shown in the data sheet is correct. Yes, the OPA244 and OPA237 follow the more traditional SOT23-5 operational amplifier pin-out.

Please do stay in touch and join us on the TI Internal e2e forums. We do look forward to being able to employ the National products in our application circuits and will likely need your assistance from time to time.

    Best regards, Thomas
