filter design for ECG

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLE2072, OPA348

Hello everyone,

We are working towards the betterment of society in a way that we are designing a device that measures ECG. We are facing difficulty in designing low pass filters
using TLE2072 series. Basic requirement is a 5V supply, cutoff frequency,150Hz. Please suggest a suitable design.
Thank You.
  • Yamini,

The TLE2072 has limited input common-mode range and output voltage swing that make it less suited to single 5V power supply operation. While it could be used on a single 5V supply, I think you would find it much easier to use a rail-to-rail I/O op amp such as the OPA348. I've shown a possible filter design using the OPA348. For other possible filter variations, I suggest TI's Filterpro program which can be downloaded free from our web site. This design program can design a wide range of filter types that may be better suited to your application.

    Regards, Bruce.
