I'm going to use TLV2462 as buffer. If feedback input(-IN) is floating, then output status is?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV2462

Hello, TIer

I'm going to use TLV2462 as a buffer for current drive.

So, I want to make a certain about the status of output-end. If -IN(feedback input) is floating, output signal would be ground level.

Is it true?

  • Jake,

Let me repeat your question so I'm sure we understand:  You want to know what will happen if the feedback connection from op amp output to the inverting input is disconnected. Is that correct?

If this feedback connection is disconnected the output state cannot be predicted. It will likely swing to the positive supply rail or to the negative supply rail. We cannot know with certainty which rail the output would go to. It might also be sensitive to noise pickup, causing the output to "chatter" from rail to rail.

    Regards, Bruce.

  • Bruce.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

You catched exactly what I want to know.
