WILL LM1881N PRODUCE VERTICAL SYNC OUTPUT WITH ONLY VERTICAL SYNC AS INPUT INSTEAD OF COMPOSITE VIDEO?

I was using the LM1881N to receive SD composite video and output vertical sync pulse to my equipment.

The equipment needs the vertical sync to function.

I'm switching to a HD video camera which has no composite output.

The new camera has a veritical sync output but I can't connect directly to the equipment, there needs to be a buffer.

If I feed just vertical sync to the chip will it still put out a vertical sync and act as a buffer? If not is there another chip which will work as a buffer?
