OPA2188 vs OPA4188 and OPA188

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA188, OPA4188, OPA2188

Why is the single(OPA188) and quad(OPA4188) versions rated to +125°C and the Dual (OPA2188) rated only to +105°C?

  • Peter,

All three versions of OPAx188 actually function properly at 125C but the operation temperature margin in OPA2188 is lower than in case of OPA188 and OPA4188 (130C vs 150C, respectively).  For that reason, since we only production test those products at 25C, in order to assure that we do not ship any units that may fail at 125C, we lowered OPA2188 maximum specified temperature by 20 deg C difference (150C-130C) down to 105C.  Also, please note that the maximum IB in case of OPA2188 is +/-850pA while for OPA188 and OPA4188 it is +/-1400pA.
