TLV333IDCKR leakage issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV333

Hi Sir

I have a question about measure TLV333 leakage status.  I don't sure the way is correct or not.

Input 2.5V DC voltage at pin1(+IN) and measure pin5(V+) status as below.

I got 1.8V at pin5(V+) as below. Is it leakage issue?

As far I know, the general OPA internal block diagram as below.

My measure result looks internal diode voltage drop. Is it right?

If I don't require this status. Do you have other solutions in TI OPA products?

Thank you for your support.

  • Hi Hugo,

What are you trying to do?  This seems like a strange test to perform.

Is the V+ pin floating?  If so, then what you're seeing is the IN+ pin positive ESD cell conducting and as a result you're getting +2.5V minus a diode drop at the V+ pin (+2.5V - 0.7V = 1.8V).

The basic input structures of amplifiers showing the protection components is described in detail in the TI Precision Labs videos on op amp ESD and EOS, link below.

Here's an image showing the basics of an op amp ESD protection scheme:
