TIDA-00528 low side change

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00528, OPA333, INA226

Hi sirs,.

Any advise for TIDA-00528 low side sense circuit ? please suggest it

thank you

  • Hi Philip,

I would not recommend the TIDA-00528 for low side implementation. This TI design utilizes a floating OPA333 to measure up to 400V as well as a 600V FET to isolate a high voltage bus. By shifting the measurement to the low side, you are removing the need for these parts, as the majority of your voltage would be taken by the load, and your common mode for the low side implementation would be approximately zero. I would think you could simply use the INA226 at that point to measure the low side without the need for these additional steps.  This design was made to achieve high voltage measurements on the high side of the load. Is there a specific reason you wish to implement this design on the low side?

  • yes Carolus,
    it is , thank you
