OPA875: Replacement for AD8015

Part Number: OPA875

I am looking for some help finding a replacement for the AD 8015 (See attached spec sheet. The AD8015 is a very old die and the company I work for would like to move away from it before it goes into end of life. The ideal replacement would have as few connections as possible and must be in Die form. We are using the amp for reading a photo diode and the in and out must go down to DC. Our bandwidth requirements are not very high << 100MHz. We would also like to reduce the signal noise as well.

  • Hi Evan,

The AD8015 is specialized transimpedance amplifier having differential outputs. It appears to be unique in its function and pin out. TI doesn't have a direct replacement for the device. TI has many JFET and CMOS op amps that are suitable for transimpedance applications; however, they do not have differential outputs. Is that critical to your application circuit?

Please note that die sales are considered on an individual basis. Not all products are available as die, and the quantities must justify the business case for those that are.

  • Thank you for the response. We are willing to look into changing the design to work with a single output amplifier. Let me know what you think is a good idea to use and I will discuses it with our engineers and look into changing the design.

  • Hi Evan,

TI does work with an outside chip processor and that may be the option for obtaining op amp die, but the variety of op amps are limited. If you can provide more information about your transimpedance amplifier performance requirements I may be able to provide some product suggestions. Also, if you can tell me the end equipment use for the transimpedance amplifier that would be helpful.

As an alternative to die, TI has two, new fixed gain transimpedance amplifiers that are becoming available. They offer transimpedance gains of 1 MV/A and 100 kV/A, repectively. They come in a chip-scale WCSP package (1.5 x 1 mm). If this is of interest to you, please contact me directly at my email address and I'll share the information with you.
