INA170: INA170 - power sequencing

Hi,

i want to use the INA170 to sense current in a 24V power supply.

The INA170 is supplied with 3.3V on V+. The 3.3V will start  a few 10ms after the 24V is applied.

According to the datasheet, Vin+ and Vin- may be +40V, but only according to maximum ratings. Is it ok to use the 3V3 as supply, or do I need to use the 24V?

Using the 24V is problematic in my application: In case of overcurrent, i need extra protection for the ADC input.

    The supply voltage and the and the common mode voltage are independent of each other, so it is fine to have a common mode of +40V while using a supply of 3.3V.  Also, for your information, the common mode actually has a maximum voltage of +60V as shown in the data sheet:
