TLV7031: Ultra low power pulse generator

Expert 3795 points

Dear e2e Community,

My customer is willing to design an ultra low power pulse generator, to get a 1ms pulse every 100ms (the goal is to get a ~1% duty cycle).

We have worked on the following schematic using our ultra low power comparator:

Considering that the diodes D1 and D2 should be the NSR02100HT, can we get your feedback on:

- the viability of this schematic

- the behavior and performances of this schematic over temperature, considering the drift of the diodes and the TLV7031?

Regards,

  • Hello,

I slightly changed your circuit which should:

    1. provide individual control of duty cycle (via R2) and period (via C1 and R1)

    2. reduce timing dependency to the diode

With the modified circuit, the timing parameters vs. temp should primarily depend on TLV7031 and C1 as well as the supply value. Please let me know if this meets your needs. Otherwise please post your questions.

You may want fine tune the values to fine tune the period (via C1 and R1) and duty cycles (via R2).

Please bear in mind this circuit is not intended for precision timing output, but rather a loosely defined timing suitable for house-keeping or watch-dog timing.

    Best.
