LMP8481: Data sheet question, paragraph 9.1.1, max differential voltage of 667 mV

Part Number: LMP8481

I'm using the LMP8481-H and want to add transient robustness circuitry. Does the max differential voltage of 667 mV (data sheet paragraph 9.1.1) also apply to the -H version? The -H has a Vsense max of 0.133 mV and I want to verify that its capable of not being damaged with a voltage over 0.133 and less than 0.667 mV.

  • Hi Gary,

First of all, thank you for considering the LMP8481-H for your application.

You are correct. Based on absolute maximum ratings (Section 7.1) the differential input voltage (VSENSE = RSP - RSN) can be as high as +/-85V without damaging the device. The VSENSE limits specified in the electrical table (Section 7.5) delineate the amplifier's linear input range. Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Harsha
