TIPD184: Replacement OPA237 to OPA277 in the TIPD184 EVM B/d

Part Number: TIPD184
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA237, OPA277

Dear,

I have qestions TIPD184 EVM B/D.

I can see the current use the OPA237 in the TIPD184. but we trying to the replacement to OPA277UA.

pls, advice to the side impact or problem for use the OPA277.

we application are closed loop current sensor.(CTID)

Thanks and B/D

Stewart Jeon.

  • Stewart,

Thank you for using the E2E.  I would like to ask if there is a particular reason you would like to use the OPA277.  Is it just available to you.  I have used the OPA277 in many of my applications for its low offset, low noise and low drift.  For this circuit you will mostly be using it to drive the inputs to the gate which is then feedback through the magnetic core to the hall sensor.  This improvements  of the OPA277 may not result in any improvements.

From looking at the datasheet the key parameters I was looking at for this TIPD184 all has to do with the output stage.  Voltage output swing OPA237 is larger.  Output Current Drive capability OPA277 is better.  Capacitance drive capability seems to favor the OPA277.

Since they have the same pinout and if you use the same package of SO-8 you could swap the parts out if required.

  • Dear, Javier.

Thanks for your friendly support. May I another question as blow.

You can see two TR(Q1,and Q2) in the TIPD184 schematic. We make a review the change to the  two FET because the current boosting in our application

do you know have any problems if the we use the FET.

Pls recommend the schematic to can be applied.....

    Thanks and B/R.

    Stewart.

  • Stewart,

I can attempt to simulate. Have you chosen the FETs yet. If so can you share?
  • Stewart,

Since you have not replied in a couple weeks will assume you resolved your issue. Thanks again for using the forum.
