[FAQ] Can you tell me the number of transistors in my device for my reliability modeling?

Sometimes it is useful to know the number of transistors in a part for quality and reliability modeling. How can I get that information from TI?

  • The number of transistors in an IC along with junction to case thermal resistance (theta-jc) are regularly requested for use with reliability simulators.

While we can provide theta-jc values (if not already in the data sheet), we cannot provide transistor counts without a MIC NDA (Manufacturing Information Content Non-Discolsure Agreement). This agreement requires approval from TI management and coordination between the TI legal team and requester's legal team. If you are interested in developing such an agreement, please contact us.

Additional Quality and Reliability information can be found here. The DPPM/FIT/MTBF estimator may be particularly helpful.
