THS7373: Display Blur issue in VGA monitor.

Part Number: THS7373

Hello sir,

Currently I am using THS7373 IC one of my project Dual Channel VGA Splitter (1 x 2 ).

I am using THS7373 IC two No's for getting two VGA outputs for two monitors.

Here I am mention the Technical specification for your reference:

1.    Input signal: RGB
2.   Resolution: 1280*1024 @ 60Hz ( Bandwidth: 160MHz ).

Used Monitor Specification :

1. Make : Acer

2. Maximum resolution : 1920 X 1080

3. Orientation : Landscape

Tested Results:-

I had a Blurred Screen on both monitors. and I had blurred text in both the display.

This is serious issue in this project

Please give the solution as soon as possible.

Hereby enclosed Schematic PDF,  both Monitor display images for your reference.

  • Hi Lakshmanan,

each 75R line must have an individual 75R wiring or cabling. Otherwise you get a mismatch of characteristic impedance which can result in an eroding of the rise and fall times of signals.

  • Hi Lakshmanan,

Would it be possible for you to invoke the "auto adjust" feature in both the monitors and see whether the blurred image disappears? The auto adjust feature usually syncs up the reference clock in the monitor to the incoming H & V sync signal, and is responsible for correcting any blurring or misalignment in the image. I think this setup needs to be done only once for a particular video standard and the connection will stay as long as the incoming video standard is not changed.

Usually, there is a bi-directional path that exists between the image source (say laptop) and the monitor which lets it sync to a reference clock. In your case because of the VGA split using the THS7373, this bi-directional path is probably broken which is why the auto sync has not occurred.

    Best Regards,
    Rohit
