LM139: What is the recommended input voltage for lm139

Part Number: LM139

For LM139,if supply voltage is'V', what is the recommended maximum input voltage at + and -ve inputs?if supply is 6.4v and +ve input is 3v,can we apply 11v at -ve input?will it be recommended operating condition?

For supply voltage Vcc, the maximum input voltage where the specifications in the EC table are warranted is (Vcc-1.5V) at 25C and (Vcc-2V) over entire temperature range. However, the state of the comparator output will be correct (will follow the conditions of the input) if one of the inputs exceeds this limit as long as the other input is within the range of 0V to (Vcc-2V). See section 9.2.2.1 for more explanation.
I believe my last comment helps answer your second question. If Vcc = 6.4V and IN+ = 3V, you can apply 11V at IN- of the same comparator channel. The output state of the comparator will be a logic low. While the comparator output state will be correct, the specifications in the EC table may vary since this is outside the warranted common mode voltage range. This is very common to use the part in this fashion. It is actually one of the benefits of the bipolar input stage architecture.
