THS3091: output voltage withstand for THS3091

Part Number: THS3091

Hi,

My customer is willing to know the voltage that output pin can with stand.

Can you help to give us the idea since it can't be found on the datasheet.

Thanks for your help.

  • Hi user021864,

do you intend to apply a voltage to the output? This is not a good idea. Why would you want to do that?

    Kai
  • Hi Kai,

Thanks for the feedback, i know it's not a good idea doing this, since THS3091 may be able to be used at the output stage of the function generator, it's possible that user may connect to other voltage source in accident. So customer would like to know what is the voltage it may be able to withstand.

Please let us know if you got idea for this.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Kai,

Can you help to let us know if there are information of the withstand voltage of THS3091?

    thanks for your help.

  • Hey user021864,

The issue lies more with the current of the device rather than the voltage. The absolute maximum rating states a limit of 350mA of output current. If you know the range of expected voltages for both your amplifier output and the function generator, an option is to add a series resistor to your output with a value such that the current doesn't exceed this limit in the worst-case scenerio.
