AMC1301: TIDA-01513, calculating equation issue

Part Number: AMC1301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01513

Hi

I have a question about AMC1301-Q1. I saw the Page 6 and 11 of the reference design TIDA-01513 tells the detection principle and final verification result. It confused me if the calculation formula (2) and (3) with the red underline in the  picture as belows is correct or not. Because according to the circuit, this 'minus' in the formula should be 'plus'. But using VREF plus the following expression item, it won't match the test result. Can you help to check this and give me some explaination? Thanks a lot.

  • Hello Han,

Unfortunately i could not see the picture attached by you. Is that possible to re share the same?

Equation 2 and 3 has to be plus. We are working to update the same. Let me know which test result you are referring to and what is the difference that you are seeing here?

Can you provide some more info about the preconditions and circuit, voltages that you are referring to?

    Thanks
    Regards

  • Hi

All of these pictures were captured from TIDA-01513.

As you can see in the following flow chart of isolation leakage detection. I already undertand the left side, but really confused about the right-side flow logic. If  housing isolation has positive ang negative error, only turn on one relay we think ISO_POS and ISO_NEG should be both equal to REF which is not the same conclution showing in this flow chart. Can you helo to check that and kindly give us detailed calculation process for reference, especially in the abnormal situation that POS and NEG has error with housing isolation?

  • Hello Han,

Right hand side flow is to check whether there is error at High voltage POS or error is positioned in middle of the battery potential.

I am planning to update the design guide to make it clear about flowchart.

    Thanks
