LMH6551: about Output Voltage Swing

Guru 11170 points
Part Number: LMH6551

Hello E2E,

Please let me know about this device.

In datasheet p7, "Output Voltage Swing" is +/-2.8V(typ) at Vcm=2.5V and Vs=+/-2.5V single power.

Differential output difference is over power supplied voltage range. Why over the Vs range?

Regards,

ACGUY

  • Hello ACGUY,

Under the test conditions for that parameter, you will see that Vcm = 0V. Therefore each output pin will exhibit a voltage of +/-1.4V and neither pin will be going over the supply rails.

  • Hello ACGUY,

I also was looking at that spec line on page 7 and find it confusing, here was a data sheet edit suggestion,

I was staring at this for awhile device - has 1.1V headroom. So centered on Vcm=0V and +/-2.5V it can swing +/-1.4V typ. So, if we pay attention to the single ended Vpp, either that +/- needs to go away or it should be +/-1.4 it seems.

The I/O swing issues on an FDA can get a little confusing, tried to sort out here,
