TLV2171: May I know what TLV2171 happen when it output latch?

Hi Team,

May I know what TLV2171 happen when it output latch? Even thought TLV2171 input signal change, output keep latch. Only power off, TLV2171 work normally.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Eggsy,

latch-up usually occurs when an input or output voltage is given to the OPAmp which is beyond the supply voltage of OPAmp. See section 6.1 of datasheet.

Can you give us a schematic?

Also measure the input voltages and output voltage when the device is "latched". Please include the power supply voltage(s) for the op amp.

Thanks for your help!
The issue happen in EFT test.
But my customer use TL082 to replace the TLV2171, it work normally under EFT test.

Hi Eggsy,

replacing the TLV2171 with the TL082 might not be a true fix of the latch-up problem. To make an OPAmp withstand ESD, Burst and Surge, protection circuitry usually needs to be added.
