INA220: Definition of IQ

Part Number: INA220

Hi Team,

I am a little bit confused by datasheet specification.

 Here it specified two current:

(1) Quiescent current, which is typ. 7mA

(2) Quiescent current in power down mode, which is typ 6uA

My question is

1. Is quiescent current referring to current in normal operating mode?

2. What is spec of quiescent current for Vs=5V (both normal operating mode and power down mode)?

Thanks!

Wenhao

  • Hi Wenhao,

    1. The quiescent current spec (typ 0.7 mA, max 1 mA) refers to normal operating mode.
    2. The quiescent current, power-down mode spec (typ 6 µA, max 15 µA) refers to power-down mode as described in section 8.3.1 of the INA220 datasheet. In this mode, quiescent current is reduced and input bias current sources are turned off.

Both of these specs apply for the whole power supply range of 3 V to 5.5 V.
