DRV110EVM: DRV110EVM RSense (R8) not mounted

Part Number: DRV110EVM

Hello,

I am working with the DRV110EVM, I have realized that all the components match with the BOM but the R8 (541-1.00AAFCT-ND) is not mounted. Is not a problem to solder one, but...is it expected to be like that? I have two cards in the same situation.

  • Hi Ignacio,

Thanks for your question. Let me contact the expert for this part. You can expect a response by 11/19/19.

  • Hello Ignatio,

Rsense resistor value is set by the target Ipeak and Ihold. Mounting the schematic R8=1kohm will limit the Ipeak and Ihold range.

That's the main reason this resistor has not been mounted, otherwise end user will have to unsolder the 1kohm than solder the new one.

    Regards,

    Costin

  • Hello Costin,

Thank you very much for your answer. I understand your point and it it is true that fixing a value limits the capability of the board. On the other hand, the both BOM and Schematics state that there is a 1 Ohm resistor assembled on the board, so I would propose to update the documentation, so people are aware that it is needed to solder an additional resistor to the board before being able to start testing

    Kind regards

    Ignacio
