LM6134: tOR Overload recovery time

Part Number: LM6134
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM6132

Hi guys,

I hope all is fine!

I wanted to kindly know where to find the tOR   Overload recovery time for the LM6134.

On the datasheet LM6132 / LM6134 the value of tOR Overload recovery time for a comparison is missing.
Since it works in saturation in certain operating regions of the machine, I need to find an opamp with a reduced value of this parameter.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts.

Thank you and best regards,

Adrian

  • Adrian,

Has the LM6134 proven itself as too slow for the application?  What is the maximum time allowed?
During the overload (non-linear) time, what is the maximum input difference voltage present on the inputs?

  • Hey Adrian,

At one time I had set out to really get this specified on a high speed op amp. I found, over time in lab, that the nominal recovery time depended a lot on the external circuit configuration. And then later, device to device and over temp added more variation. An obvious death spiral trying to write datasheets - never put it in since the mid 80's as kind of an endless loop of wasted effort.

If you need a time, that is short and defined, maybe use diode limiting to keep it out of "overdrive" keeping the loop closed and in a known operating condition.
