LM2903: Do we have a minimum reference voltage for LM2903 as the comparator

Part Number: LM2903

HI Team,

My customer is asking normally use LM2903 as a comparator, we'll have a reference voltage and do we have a minimum voltage on this reference? And why?

Thanks

  • Hi Ted,

Your reference voltage should be within the common mode range of the device, which is from (V-) - (V+ -1.5V).

Ideally both your reference and your input signal to the comparator are both within this range. However, if one of these inputs is outside the common mode range and the other is still inside, you should expect the comparator to have the correct output state still.

One more thing to note about the inputs is their abs max rating, which is -0.3V - 36V. Neither input should be exceeding these limits.

    Regards,
    Jonny
