LM158: Lookking for explanation of part# options

Part Number: LM158

Thank you in advance for your help.

Concerning Part# LM158J/883B.

We are trying to determine the differences between the above and LM158J/883C or LM158J/883Q or LM158J/883QS but could not find it explained on a datasheet what the difference is from the B to the C,Q and QS.

Is this something you can explain? Or maybe reference a datasheet that explains these options?

LM158J/883, LM158/J883B and LM158/883C are the same mil grade product.

Originally, it was required that the rev. letter of the mil standards be included at the end of the product name. That requirement was dropped after rev. C, so newer manufactured parts are just LM158J/883.

I am not familiar with product names LM158J/883Q or LM158J/883QS. Where have you seen these product names and were the parts from Texas Instruments or National Semiconductor?

I believe the parts are National Semiconductor.

I've attached some photos we found on the internet with that shows a Q and QS.

The "Q" is not part of the part number. It is a marking required by the mil standards. It was not always required and older products will not have it.

The "S" indicates test site, in this case Singapore. The test site code is optional and we do not use it on newer produced products.
