OPA2172: Supply Voltage

Part Number: OPA2172
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA2991

Dear Team,

Here is Kevin from Delta Taiwan team.

This is a big project in Delta telecom power, so please help on it promptly!

The customer qualify OPA2172IDR as the second source, but he didn't notice his system use 4.5V is too low for the device.

He can measure 4.3V supply voltage to this OP, but the device still work well.

The datasheet only mentions recommend voltage but didn't mention minimum value.

We would like to know is 4.3V also acceptable?

If not, do you have a suitable P2P device with similar spec. but lower supply voltage device?

BR

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

The minimum supply voltage specified in the datasheet is 4.5V. This is stated in Table 7.3 and on page 10 under "power supply" in the datasheet. The datasheet specifications will not be guaranteed if the device is operating below 4.5V.

I would recommend taking a look at the OPA2991 which can operate down to 2.7V.

    Thank you,

    Tim Claycomb
