LM358: LM358 output accuracy

Part Number: LM358

Hi Expert,

Below is a typical amplifier circuit. The customer found the accuracy of this circuit is not very good. They tried to reduce the R3/R4 and R5/R6 by 5 times, then the output accuracy could become better. Will R3/R4 and R5/R6 value affect the accuracy of this circuit?

  • Hello Lenna,

The circuit is supposed to pass the BAT+ voltage signal and reject +5V input. The gain of the 5V signal is much higher than the BATT gain , so the matching of R3 to R4 is very important. Actually, all the resistor pairs need to match for good common mode rejection.

Do you have data for the testing already complete? Does removing R3 and R4 help?

There is a lot of gain and attenuation in this circuit perhaps a major change would be beneficial. What is the purpose of this circuit and better yet the mathematical transfer function that is desired?
