TL082: may damage over Ta=85 on TL082IDR?

Part Number: TL082

Hi,

Customer is using TL082IDR.
Is there a possibility that damage will occur if Ta exceeds 85℃?   Or is it okay (no damage) to reach Ta=125℃?   Please let us know.

Also, is there a possibility that damage will occur if the Junction temperature exceeds 150℃?
What does "Virtual" in "Operating virtual junction temperature" mean?

Thanks and best regards,
M.HATTORI.

    Hello Hattori-san,

For more information on the meaning of "virtual junction temperature", please see this thread which handles the issue.

There is a possibility, but not a certainty, that damage will occur if Ta exceeds 85℃ for this version of the device.  If you need a higher ambient temperature specification, consider one of the other versions of the device.  Also, the junction temperature should be kept under 150℃ to avoid damage.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,

    Daniel Miller
