INA169: Operating Temperature

Part Number: INA169
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA139

Hi,

Good day. I hope everything is fine.

Our customer wants to use the INA169 (INA169NA/250) and they noticed that the information about the operating condition is not consistent. On the packaging information (page 21) of the datasheet, it shows that the operating temp is –40°C to +125°C. However, on other parts of the datasheet it says the op temp is just –40°C to +85°C (page 1, page 6..). In line with this, we would like to know which is the correct operating temperature of INA169.

Furthermore, on section 6.5 Electrical Characteristics, there is a parameter "Operating" (temperature), which is in the range of –55°C to 125 °C. I would like to know which this parameter refers to. I would appreciate if you could help us on this inquiry.

Thank you and stay safe.

Regards,

Cedrick

  • Hi Cedrick,

"Operating" (temperature) in the range of –55°C to 125 °C indicates that the device will function, but certain parameter(s) might drift out of spec; “Specification Tmin to Tmax” indicates that drift limits (min/max or typical) are applicable in this range. This is also the range in which the device should be used in order to achieve datasheet specified performance.

The packaging information section numbers are likely a mistake, probably an oversight that happened when the temperature range for INA139 was updated as documented in the revision history. I’ll investigate further, and let you know immediately if the conclusion is different than stated.

  • Hi Guang,

    Thank you for your support.

I'll be waiting for your confirmation on this information so I could relay this to our customer and they can proceed.

Have a great day. Stay safe.

  • Hi Cedrick,

I can confirm that my answers in the previous post are correct, ie, Op Temp should be 85 degrees at the upper end for INA169. You can relay ths information to customer.

    Regards, Guang
