BUF634: How to read lot code?
Part Number: BUF634
As the new BUF634A part will not have a TO220-5 package anymore I would like to know how long TI will manufacture BUF634T parts in the coming years. A TI support person I contacted was not able to answer that question properly. It even took a while to get correct answers which are available on the TI website. The support people on the chat and issue system were not able to distinguish between a NRND and EOL part. lol
Can anybody estimate how long this NRND device will be available for purchasing at TI? Can anybody estimate a time before EOL and end of purchasing? Thank you.
What is your experience?
The chip being marked NRND isn't an indication of the part becoming obsolete, there is currently no known date. If a change happens and we plan to obsolete the device at a future date there will be at least 18 months for additional orders/deliveries.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.

Thank you very much for your answer.
An estimate number of years would be helpful, but seems not to be possible.
