TLE2141-EP: ESD Information

Part Number: TLE2141-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLE2142, TLE2141, TLE2141-Q1

Hi Team, we would like to seek your support for the ESD of this device.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Mark

  • Hi Mark,

Because the datasheet for the TLE2141-EP does not mention the ESD performance, we cannot make guarantees about how susceptible it is to ESD events. However, we do have some information that gives us an idea of its resiliency might be.

As my colleague Tom explains, we do have some reports from testing on the related TLE2142 from the early 90s. One report indicates that it failed ESD testing at 3kV (HBM), and another mentions failures at 3kV (HBM) and 500V (HBM), with a CDM rating of about 200V.

The TLE2141-Q1 is a higher-grade version of the TLE2141. As another of my colleagues mentions, the approximate ratings for this part are 500V HBM and 1500V CDM.

The TLE2141-EP would represent another step up from the TLE2141-Q1, and thus while I cannot make any guarantees I would expect the ESD performance to be comparable to the Q1 version. That said, considering the susceptibility of the base part to ESD, I would advise strict adherence to ESD safety practices when handling this device.

    Cheers,

    Jon
