OPA548: Custom lead shapes

Part Number: OPA548

Hi Team,

A customer will make their own custom lead shapes for OPA548 amplifier using either the KC or KVT package. Do we have a guidelines about the minimum dimensions, bend radii, spacing and other parameters?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

OPA548's framelead is made of copper alloy (approx. 57% of Cu) , and its composition is shown in the image below.

Based on the personal experiences, the framelead can be bent or reshape back and forth for approx. 6 times. Use electronic needle nose pliers (use two pliers rather one when reshaping; use one for bending, one for stablizing the opposite framelead) to straightening and reshape the framelead, bent approx. up to 90 degree per corner. The Cu alloy is fairly durable to rework in leadframe reshaping,  and it does not create noticeable metal bending fracture and strength weakness from limited reshaping and modification.

I am not sure that there is specific guidelines for this. If I find any relevant document, I will attach it at the end of the comments.

    Best,
